For everyone wondering, you can still get this functionality:
Once you've located the glyph you want, highlight it, then choose
"Unicode" from the View popup menu. The character will remain
highlighted when you switch. Next, choose the "Unicode Table" tab. The
character will still be highlighted, and you can read the hex code from
there -- for this one, it's in the row &hA0 in the 9th spot, so &hA9,
which equals 169.
A bit more work in Panther, but it is still useful.
