I have no objections whatsoever to a chat room. The problem for someone
like me is this: How do I find a REALbasic person to chat with who is
interested in chatting with a REALbasic novice? (For example, would
_you_ be interested in chatting with me? If so, let's set the time,
date, and place! If not, I rest my case.)

Also, I'd like to have an opportunity to show that I'm not as
unintelligent as my "stupid" questions here may suggest. User groups
and mail lists present beginners like me with an opportunity to ask
questions with no questions asked, so to speak, and a face-to-face
meeting would allow me to "show off" what I've been able to do with a
minimal knowledge of REALbasic (e.g., writing the game NimRow and a
utility for the Avant Browser) or to offer access (to someone who
programs in both REALbasic and Visual Basic) access to the 200+ books on
Visual Basic in my personal library, but all I have to offer in a chat
room is probably more questions like I've been asking here, and that may
make it difficult to find a chat partner!

As my knowledge of REALbasic progresses, I hope to have more to offer to
other people, but right now what I see to be a significant difficulty of
my finding someone to chat with may prevent me from implementing your
otherwise excellent suggestion. (Again, would _you_ want to chat with
me?) Thanks for the feedback.
