Maximize Windows Window

I have a standard window (document window) in my app, which I created on a 
mac. When I run it on a windows machine there is no "maximize" or "minimize" 
button. Clearly I am missing some aspect of this issue. Can someone give me 
some 
direction? Do I change the type of the window or do I have conditionally add 
those buttons manually?
