The other thing about holding mini-conferences in big cities - is that, in
addition to bring more people total, it might be used as a way to attract new
customers who want to see what RB is like.
I have another idea, that the people at Mathematica and Maple use. They
attend various conferences and give one hour talks. Mathematica even brought in
15
macs to let people use their software. I know Maple is based in Toronto but
they sent people to Los Angeles and Northern Californa and probably all over
the
US. They line up a series of conferences to attend so the person makes a
single trip for two weeks and visits colleges and universities too.
