I might be the type of person that it takes 2 or 3 times longer to
understand such things as RB but I wont give up.

Tons of times. One of my main things with RB is database access. It took
me a long time to grasp it, and I made a lot of junk projects along the
way, but I just kept plugging along. Persistence is the key. I've also
found that these mailing lists are incredibly helpful and supportive. I
don't think I've ever had a question go unanswered, and often people are
willing to bend over backwards to help with specific questions.
