Learning how to program can be difficult. One problem that I often see is
that people want to do things far beyond their capabilities. It takes an
awful lot of time to do something that isn't actually very useful. It's not
easy to come up with descent projects. My recommendtaio is that you start
with some tutorial that is interesting enough. Make sure you understand as
much as you can. When you think you understand something, modify it. Add a
button, method or whatever. Try it out. Then move on to the next project.
You may find something that helps you in your professional life. This is how
accountants learn how to program Excel using VBA.

I remember that someone asked me what it takes to be a progremmer. My reply
was that you have to be

A) Smart enough to understand your programming language.
B) Dumb enough to be impressed by your own first achievements.

I think most programmers will agree.

Don't worry about A. You have burning desire, right? As for B, make sure you
find interesting starter projects

/ Fredrik
