Practice is very important. I certainly encourage all who are interested to persevere. But you should also be aware that there is a _very_ large body of knowledge out there. Do not assume that you can learn it ALL by reading just a few articles and practicing.

You should be able to accomplish useful and fun things, especially using RealBasic (a great product), if you don't set your ambitions too high at the outset.

To put things in perspective, I'll let you know that I have earned a very respectable income since 1966, writing computer programs full-time. And I am not alone...
