Trigonometry help

could someone of you help out a bit with some trigonometric stuff that
I'm having trouble with?
This is a very basic cartesian Sin/Cos type of thing and I should be
able to hack this on my
own, guess I'm just a bit out of practice...

Here are the details:
On a canvas, at location 150,150, are two filled concentric circles
(360deg ArcShapes),
the one on the bottom has a radius of 100 and the  one on the top has a
radius of 90.

The problem is to identify (set a flag) when the mouse is in the non
overlapping area...
that is; inside of the bigger circle AND outside of the smaller one.

I'm halfway there but it only works for Mouse X=0 or Y=0 (mouse coord's
offset to 150)
