Hi all,
as Marc is currently travelling (and I don't have access to change the site)
I set up an interim site with some more info to answer some questions I
received.
Firstly we'll change the name - as some people kindly pointed out "Olympics"
is a registered trademark so we shouldn't use it.
The title to compete for will probably be "REALbasic Programmer of the Year
2005"
Some people were unclear about the requirements for the professional entry
so I changed the text to make it clearer - basically while the beginners
just need to replace the text and adopt the style of the current text the
professionals should provide options. To this end I also provide a new
template file (thanks to Robert Hoek).
Several people asked for a test file - I'm providing a small test file in
rtf format on the site.
Until Mark is back you can access it at:
http://www.biancanijmeijer.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/RealBasicProgrammingContest/
Contest1/Contest1.htm
and also have a look at the current leader board.
Several beginners asked if they can also have a shot at the professional
level - the answer is a resounding YES! Beginners are not excluded from the
professional contest, but professionals should (e.g. those earning their
living with programming) should not enter the beginners contest.
Happy coding!
Markus
