All you need to do this is held within the Language Reference.  Start
with TextInputStream.

Also, in the LR, click Theme and check out the options for dealing with
Strings.  The Tutorial might also be a good source of information and
doesn't take long to complete.

I just need to know how to open a simple text file, read the contents
(line by line), and then close the file. Can someone point me to one of
the real basic examples that has this in it? Also, if any of you know
off the top of your head an example that has some text parsing that
would be helpful too. Thanks.
