It's been a long time since I looked into installers, so this information
might be totally bogus. Then again, it might not. Shouldn't take to long
for you to find out.
I think the easiest way to do this might be to use an installer application.
There are several free installers for Windows. I think they can solve two
problems very easily:
1) Displaying the proper icon for the application and the files it
generates. I think some of them assign the icon in the registry which
allows the system to show the proper icon. I think by default, RB apes
display 8-bit icons on Windows.
2) I think you can tell some installers what icon to use for the files your
application will save and, of course, to tell the system which application
to open these files.
Again, I might be dreaming all of this, so don't be too mad if I'm
remembering wrong :)
By the way, did that new code I provided for the alignment buttons work? It
should change the alignment to the previous alignment when clicked twice (or
more) now.

Subject: windows - opening files directly by the parent app
How can I make my files have their parent app icons in Windows (PC)? How can
I make my files to be opened directly by the parent app by just
double-clicking on their icons, in Windows (PC)?
Thanks.
Lennox.
