Provide a Name for the menu item and then create a Menu Handler for that
item.
show_item.Name = "PasteSpecial"
Though, I'm not sure this is the way to do it. In the LR, Name is listed in
bold and I thought that meant that the it can't be set or changed at
runtime. Certainly works though.

Subject: menu change event
Where is the menu change event? I suppose the menu handler, but when you
generate a menu in code, how do you generate a handler for each menu item so
you
catch changes - e.g. to chagne the checkmark, grab the menu tag, and then do
some operation? This is really confusing.
