Try it sometime, go to a search engine and type in mutex.
Many examples and definitions from programming places.

What exactly are you suggesting? After you have read the LR references, checked the user's guide, and searched the archives - you should use google and review information about all other programming languages which might have something similar, rather than asking on this list?

I've been writing software, and participating in developer lists for over 15 years.

The key, especially on "getting started" lists is to try to quickly move from being someone who asks questions, to being someone who answers them, helpfully, so that you can share the load.

Mutexes are brand-new to RB. I didn't notice you offering up how to do it right - even though you know all about them. Instead you suggest that we should google about C++'s versions of mutexes... thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

PS - It is a good idea to change the subject to an appropriate title when posting to mailing lists, especially when you are hijacking a thread.
