I'm coming at RB from VB6 and VB.NET, and I'm used to cutting and pasting
code from other projects pretty quickly. When I tried to cut & paste some
code I'd googled from another list into a new module, RB tried to turn the
two functions into a single method, stripping out the initial declaration
into the header fields at the top, etc., but leaving the second method in
the code (which I didn't catch as a problem for a short while (a build)).
Is there an easier way to do this? Can I eliminate the "Method Name",
"Parameters", and "Return Type" header fields and just hack the module in
the RB IDE give or take as a text file (with the auto-completion)?
Ah, and while I'm bothering everyone, I'm trying to automate Word and
noticed that I needed to put compiled apps into the "Office" folder. Do I
stick the IDE in the Office folder to run test builds that automate Office?
And what the heck -- if I buy RB Standard for OS X, will it create
Classic/OS 9- builds, or is that another platform? I realize it won't make
Windows or Linux builds, but wasn't sure about Classic.
Thanks!
