I think I have found the root of my problem.

I can state my problem and the solution logically.
I just can't put it into practice.
Part of it is some specifics of containercontrols that
I don't know how to overcome (yet).

But more importantly, it's about how to translate my
human code into basic. For simple problems, I find
I'm learning quickly. But this one goes right over my
head.

So I figure I need a "basic" algorithm 101 course.

Does anybody know where I find such a reference
gratis, free, for nothing? The few tutorials on RB
are just fine for basic problems.

BTW, I'm really not in the habit of asking for help
if I'm not blue and purple from trying myself. I don't want
to waste anybody's time. I hope I don't give that
impression.

BTW2: if you can point me to a specific solution for
my shifting problem as well, so much the better :-)

Thank you!
