I only encourage going to the local distributor. For this, you need to
do your own research. One thing though -- local support only comes from
your local distributor. They keep track of all serial numbers. If you
arent on their list, their support policies don?t apply to you.

Resellers have a very big problem to compete against the direct price of
a distributor. If they cannot compete, there is no reason to buy from a
distributor. So in fact, in many countries, you can buy from a reseller
at a lower rate than buying it direct from the distributors. In this
case however, if you are only buying a serial number it would come from
a distributor since those are not released to resellers.

That's true. The euro is doing quite well. It would be more exciting if
employment rate were higher in the larger european countries so that
consumption of imports would increase.
