What font are you using for this? Is it just in an edit field, or does
it occur when it is drawn to a canvas?
I've had some odd kerning and tracking issues too, and am interested in
understanding what's causing them.

Compare the space between the "D" and the "a" in the two pictures. In
the first one, there is no space between the "D" and the "a" and that's
the kerning problem...
