The RB3Dspace "Visible" item does not work on OSX

The RB3Dspace "Visible" item does not seem to work on OSX. It works on
Classic, Windows and when running a Carbon version on Classic. I use RB
4.5.2.

Any suggestions? This is a real showstopper for me.
