Has anyone been having any success with the Windows version of the IDE?
I bought a pc this weekend and was playing around with the new Windows IDE.
Is there a problem with using a styled editfield? My simple app crashes
everytime I run it from the IDE. There is not much else but an editfield.
Upon further investigation:
Mac IDE compiles:
------------------
It compiles OK on the Mac beta 5a4 OLD compiler.
The new compiler generates a "COMPILER BUG. Internal error! Syntax error in
winMain" error message in the debugger. Double-clicking the message does
nothing.
The Windows app that I compile on the Mac v5a4 OLD compiler then run on the
PC runs fine. New compiler
WINDOWS IDE compile:
---------------------
Doesn't work with old compiler "Can't debug with old debugger, try the new
one" message.
The new Compiler gets crashes. Message is "REALbasic IDE has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.... Please
tell Microsoft about this problem."
Guess I'll have to do the compile on Mac and copy to PC shuffle. Still, its
quicker than using VB!
Mac: G4 450mhz mp, OS 9.2.2, classic IDE 5a4
PC: P4 2Ghz, Win XP Home, windows IDE 5a4
