To tell you the truth, we've argued this point to death and I'm at
the point were I could care less where the problem lies. If you guys
can fix the issue, great, if you can't fix it, or won't to
acknowledge that it _is_ an issue, just say so and I'll move on.
But you keep coming back later and saying things which are, at best,
misleading, like: "in C you have total control, so you can pick and
chose what to deal with and what to ignore, and how often to yield to
background tasks. In RB, you're a slave to the runtime." This
clearly implies that you can't choose how often to yield to
background tasks. Perhaps you understand that that's not true, and
didn't mean to imply it, but a new user could easily be fooled.
Instead, let's agree on something like this: "In RB, you can choose
how often to yield, but when you do yield it seems to take longer
than it should, at least under some circumstances."
Then we can do productive things like work out exactly what those
circumstances are (considering OS, Carbon/Classic, version of RB,
etc.), and whether we at RS can do anything to speed it up, rather
than spending time clarifying that you really can choose when to
yield.
