Seth,

I tried your fixes, and they work. However, it introduced another bug on my system. The game area is too big and gets clipped now. It cuts off the bottom row of missiles and a row on the left and right. I am on a 15" PB running at 1280 x 854 Using OS X 10.3.4. Don't know if you're interested in fixing it or not after Joe's earlier remarks, but I figured I would mention it just in case. :-)

That's.....odd. I'm still using Joe's code to resize the window and view area and stuff so I wonder why you see it in my version but not the original.
