That's a pretty meaningless number unless you tell us what hardware
you're running on and give more details about the scene.
1Ghz G4 Laptop with a ATI 9700 (?) Mobile, 64mb of vram and 256 mb of
regular ram.
Texture bandwidth is the biggest bottleneck, so it's hard to judge if
that number is any good until we know how many textures you're drawing
and how big they are. Viewport size and depth settings are also very
important.
1 texture, 256x256, 140k. Viewport is fullscreen (1280x854, yon = 1000).
For example, I get 450 FPS in a tight loop with a textured ~2000
triangle model rendered via Quesa - Is that better or worse than the
performance you're seeing? Your guess is as good as mine since neither
of us divulged enough information to draw a conclusion!
Frank.
I should have said all that in the first place, but your questions
about textures etc you could have answered by downloading it and seeing
for yourself. If this number really isn't good, at least it made me
feel good, and you can tell me what is good.
