the above before my brain was fully engaged... A Hellcat actually has a
wing area of 31.03 square meters. One hundred square meters is just
silly for a little old fighter airplane...
Heh, well I'm glad to hear I wasn't off by an order of magnitude!
When I made the 10 m^2 estimate, I didn't have any plans of the plane
to measure, so my thinking was like this: about 10 m wingspan, with
the wings about 1 m wide, would be 10 m^2. But I can easily believe
that I was off by a factor of three.
