I've been a Linux user at home for quite a while now. I'm not much into PC
gaming on Linux or Windows, I use a PS2 for that.
My *personal* opinion on this is that I think there is a market for Linux
gaming. I also think the problem you will encounter is that *most* Linux users
want and/or expect open source and free as in beer gaming. However, I also
think that if the game is good enough, people would want, and buy it.
Also, with all the distributions out there, it would probably be difficult to
be able to support ALL of them, so I would target the most popular (see
www.distrowatch.com to start.
My best guess is that if you can run RB on the distro, your game will run as
well.
For a good idea regarding the state of gaming on Linux, check out
www.linux-gamers.net and www.happypenguin.org.
