Explosion sounds? When do these appear?

The rocks hitting the ground -- see the other message to Jeff on this.

I like the graphics, though woah...... you can still play the game while at the menu screen? Wow yeah, you can... you can totally move around and play the game while the menu is sitting there spinning :)

Yep. That's a feature.

Not sure how...

I also just saw some blue & yellow circle flash on the screen very briefly while I was typing this (it's happened twice now).

Er. Hmm. If anybody sees a pattern to that, please let us know. At the moment I haven't a clue what it could be.

I figured out that it was whatever the thing is (zombie status? I forgot) when you press ?.

I've always been a little unsure what to call this -- originally I liked "Zombie Invasion," but that's more of a description than a title, and as a title it's a bit overlong.

I don't think it's long. Unreal Tournament. Deus Ex: Invisible War. Close Combat: First to Fight...

Perhaps you could have something that says you need to let the Zombies take a turn when the user runs out of moves and is pressing all the keys not understanding why his character doesn't move!

Good idea.

Yeah. If you run out of moves, the zombies should move on their own.

Ah, so (1b) then. Which is a perfectly reasonable position. I'll think about what we can do to detect when the user is confused and give them a clue.

You could do a tutorial mission kind of thing. Just an 8 x 8 board with directions on how to kill zomie. Or a splash screen explaining it on the first run.
