Hehe, thanks.  Well, we'll see how the backing goes.  Right now I'm leaning
towards using RB to perhaps prototype the game, then using one or more of
the tools discussed here to actually complete it.

That's true. If you really need something that simply cannot be done in 
RB, you can write a plugin. If Gerald really has the backing to do 
this, then more power to him!
