Are you using a single-processor Mac? If I turn off one of my CPU's with CHUD tools it doesn't crash (at least not immediately, I haven't left it running for very long) but this reinforces that assumption that this is indeed a multithreading problem.

You are right, I am using a single processor Mac ... so that's why I haven't seen it ...
Could you please send off-list me one of your crash reports?
