The group box isn't being selected. RB is showing you that the
control is within the group box by highlighting the group box at the
same time. If the group box were selected, too, you'd see a different
state (although I admit it's somewhat confusing).
Try this. Select your control. Now Command click to select the group
box, too. See the difference?
I actually wish RB would break with the Mac style of drag select and
go with the Windows style. On a Mac, dragging anywhere over a control
should select it. On Windows, IIRC, you're supposed to drag around
all 4 corners of a control. When you have group boxes and tab panels
in the background of a window, drag select is completely useless. You
always end up selecting far more than you want and you have to
Command deselect the group boxes and tab panels. Sigh.

I am running REALbasic 2005 and have several controls inside a
group box. How can I select a control inside the group box without
having to tab to it? Whenever I click on the control, the group
box is selected instead. Same thing happens with controls inside a
canvas. Am I doing something wrong or is this a feature? A bug? I
never noticed this on previous versions.
Thanks!
