Firstly, thanks for the feedback - much appreciated! Secondly, I'm
totally jealous of Troy's and Seth's computers ;)

Everything looks perfect on my slow 32MB ATI Radeon 9200 Mobility.
I get about 74 FPS.
I'm constantly impressed with how well ATI 9200's perform given their
budget/mobile status.

I'm constantly depressed with how poorly Geforce MX cards perform ;)
This demo has the eye candy cranked up by default but in a product
intended for end users I'd turn off glow mapping and lower the
material complexity by default on MX hardware. When running the demo,
hit the Tilde key (`), paste the following commands and hit Return,
then hit Escape to get rid of the console:
r_glowenabled False;r_shadersimplify 1
That should double the framerate but still look reasonably nice.
For the record, my 5 year old Mac and stock GeForce 3 card can muster
100FPS. I also picked up an ATI Radeon 7000 for testing and it gets
20FPS at the default settings, and around 40FPS using the tweaks
mentioned above. The Radeon 7000 is basically one step up from the
Rage 128, and even lacks hardware T&L (unlike the original Radeon
that preceded it).
Frank.
