The past few days I have been working on a game, and I wanted to get
some feedback on it.
Believe it or not this is actually the first application that I
wanted to program, but at the time I did not have the experience.
But since I wanted to take a break from my normal "business"
applications, I decided to dust off this old outline. Besides my 5
year old daughter seems to enjoy it...
The game is called BubblePower, and the object is to match four
"bubbles" of the same color in a row (across, down or diagonal). The
premise is that when you have four bubbles in a row, they
spontaneously combust providing electricity... part of which is to
power your laser and the rest is sold to provide power to the city.
If in a single round you do get at least a single match, you will
loose one of your backup batteries that powers your laser. Once you
run out of batteries, the game is over.
There are three special items which also affect the game play:
1. The Rainbow bubble will count as any color, allowing you to
complete a match.
2. The Bomb will explode anything within a single cell distance,
including other bombs (which would cause a cascade explosion).
Sometimes the bomb can interfere from making a match, but usually it
is a good thing. Typically you will want to save your bombs for when
you cannot make a match.
3. The Solid block is a bad thing. It can only be destroyed by a
Bomb or by making a four-in-a-row match.
The game can be downloaded here:

As far as feedback, I am looking mostly for answers the following
questions... to be sent to me offlist:
1. Do you like the game?
2. Do you find the game addictive? (prereq for a good game) =)
3. What are your system specs?
4. How is the performance?
5. Do you have any suggestions?
6. What is your High Score?
There is still work to do with the High Score and the Game Options
screen, but the game itself is finished except for sounds.
