PNG Utilities is an open source plugin for REALbasic 5.5 and greater
that allows developers to easily load and save PNG format images with
or without transparency information. Methods are also provided to
deal with strings of binary PNG data, which is ideal when storing or
retrieving images from databases, virtual volumes, or custom packages
such as zip archives.
Version 1.8 adds support for Mac OS X Universal Binary targets and
includes numerous bugfixes and optimizations for all supported
platforms. A "Picture.HasMask As Boolean" property has also been
added which can be used to determine whether an imported PNG image
contained an alpha channel or transparency index. NOTE: The 1.8 final
release fixes the Mac Intel crashes and Win32 one-pixel-off issues
present during the 1.8 beta cycle - these beta fixes are not listed
in the final version history however.
PNG Utilities is compatible with Mac OS Classic/Carbon, Mac OS X
PowerPC, Mac OS X Intel, Windows, and Linux targets. Downloads and
