Well sorry for the misspelling, there is no c on potentiometer (English is not my native language), and talking about languages that is the problem, Windows (Not sure Mac and Linux) reports axis and button names using the language of the installed Windows distribution, i.e. English version of Windows will report Something like Button 1 but the Spanish version will report Botón 1, Axis will be eje, throttle will be Acelerador and so, think on that and you will see that there is a problem if I plan to deploy applications that can be used worldwide,4 French, German, Chinese!!! Etc.

As you may see using absolute names is not a solution, yes a list of all the possible names can be used, but is there one?, I mean I speak Spanish and I also speak, read and with some misspellings ;-) write English, and for sure know the elements names for that languages, but again what about French, German Chinese!! (That freaks me out =-O , how do I write button in Chinese I don even have a Chinese keyboard :-! ), etc.

Regards

If this is the case the "Potentiometer" usually has "axis" in its name. I don't think you can count on it, but its been true for everything I have seen. (A few mice and a joy stick, with a Z-Axis throttle and X and Y axis)

Also, does any one have a good setup for handling input configuration with the game-input classes? (Detecting the range of an axis and letting the user select what does what, and stuff like that) If no one does I can post mine. It mostly works (It can select a configuration and adjust everything, and save it, but there are some bugs), but is very confusing to use, and overly complicated.

Thanks,
Craig
