Dear NUG!!
We are happy to unveil Bosco's Screen Share, a handy little app that
lets you share your screen with a friend over the Internet. It runs on
Mac OS X, Mac OS Classic, and Windows and is, of course, made with
REALbasic and Component X Graphics. This morning, we have unleashed the
first beta.
Bosco's Screen Share is the first of a line of loosely related products
that will use our screen sharing protocol. While it does not yet do
remote control (like pcAnywhere, Apple Remote Desktop, etc.), we have
found it extremely useful for one-to-one tech support, system status
monitoring, surfing the web with friends, and collaborating on
marketing documents. REALbasic developers might find it extremely
useful for getting help with programming and debugging. After doing
your first tech support session with a customer using Bosco's Screen
Share, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it!
Mac OS X and Mac OS Classic builds of Bosco's Screen Share 1.0b1 are
available now. A Windows installer will follow this weekend. Keep in
mind that it's beta software, and there are some rough edges (kinda
like the bikes on American Chopper before they go to paint), but it's
functionally complete. Our demo has some minor restrictions that won't
get in the way of evaluating the product.

**** Special REALbasic NUG offer: if you'd like to try Bosco's Screen
Share for collaborating with cow-orkers and friends on REALbasic
development, drop me a note OFF-LIST once you've downloaded and tried
Bosco's Screen Share and I will send you an activation code good for 1
month free use.
Enjoy!!
