If Object bindings we're properly documented, you could implement 
your sub-class of control and have them react to standard database 
binding etc. but also have them behave OK with your custom control 
specifications.
If you have a repetitive association you will need many times between 
2 controls, binding offer a visual simple way to associate them. Its 
reusability as its best and easiest form...
