If Object bindings we're properly documented, you could implement your sub-class of control and have them react to standard database binding etc. but also have them behave OK with your custom control specifications.

If you have a repetitive association you will need many times between 2 controls, binding offer a visual simple way to associate them. Its reusability as its best and easiest form...

I don't use bindings. Mostly because 95% of all the controls I make in my projects are either custom controls (with canvases) or sub classes of controls. But I'm sure people find a huge use for them. I don't. Now what I'm wondering is why is Apple pushing "Cocoa Bindings?"
