Thanks Peter.

I was trying to avoid writing the binarystream to a random file
because my app's users would most likely browse through several
records at any given time and, well, it just isn't "elegant coding".
But if the MBS plug-in does it then I guess I'll have to get a copy of
it asap. One question though, my apps are cross-platform (mac classic,
OS X, windoze and probably linux in future). Does the MBS plug-in
support all the other platforms at least as far as this problem is
concerned?

Igy

Our e-CryptIt Engine plugin supports this one all platforms, including on Linux.

Does the e-CryptIt Engine have the functions:
MyString=MyPicture.Picture2String and MyPicture=MyString.String2Picture?

If so,I didn't know. Igy was trying to store a picture to a db and read it back in without writing out a temp file to his hard disk first. I believe the MBS plug-in is the only one to support this feature (although I'm thinking of putting in a feature request for this in the Einhugur plug-ins as I prefer them over MBS (sorry Christian, just my preference, I'm not saying your plug-in isn't good)).

Best regards
