redrawing in a canvas

I have a very tiny project that displays the oddest behavior

Drawing the same text over and over on a canvas makes it appear like 
it's bold despite the fact it's drawing in exactly the same position, 
point size, font, etc.
Does this make any sense ?

It does this in all the versions I can test
