I can't remember when I read it, but Norton Anti Virus' AutoProtect
has been mentioned several times on the lists as a problem with
REALbasic's open routines. The only solution was to turn it off.
Perhaps a search of the listarchives might turn up another solution.
I searched Auto Protect and found the thread concerned $$TestFile$$
files.
