To have fun, not to win :-)

It is perfectly reasonable to arrange the rules to encourage new
participants.

The answer then would be to have a contest for different levels, however what most people would like to take away is not atrophy but seeing how an elegant and efficient solution is achieved. After all we want to learn (and
I really miss RealBasic University - RBD Magazine is no substitute).

Why not?  And there is Seth Willits' ongoing column at ResExcellence.
