Hello.

First, let me thank everyone who responded. This list
is truly amazing.

While I was waiting for responses I ended up writing
my own. I had already subclassed the editfield so it
knows what type of database data it represents
(varchar, date, integer, float, etc). I added code so
it now automatically accepts dates and numbers
correctly.
