The point is: there is nothing to fix here, and there is no emergency,
this is not a bug in RB.  It has nothing to do with extreme
programming, this is just a matter of understanding the architecture
of a computer and dealing with it's shortcomings.

If RS wants to idiotproof it, more power to them, but I for one am not
willing to sacrifice performance over this.  You'll say it won't use
much performance, true, but it all adds up if they idiotproof
everything.
