Stefan,

Now, I have someone, who told me, that a registration number is not
accepted. I verified it on several systems: OK. I downloaded the
shipping app and verified again: OK.

What to do now? What do YOU do?

I've had this before. My approach is to give them a refund. In fact offer it quickly. The last thing I need is somebody posting bad reviews on VersionTracker and MacUpdate because they're unhappy. So I try to quickly try to get anyone that's not completely satisfied to move on to somebody else's product. There will always be somebody that's unhappy with your product, no matter how good your product, service, and support is.

Then when the next update is released, I add the refunded serial number to a list built into the application that prevents it from being used. At worst they've got a number they can use on an old version of the software.
