I used Disk Utility on a mac with a DVD drive to "Restore" the DVD to an empty partition on an external hard drive of mine, then I hooked my hard drive up to my iBook and used the "virtual" DVD on the partition to install Tiger on my non-DVD'd iBook. It worked great.

I'm using it right now. Had NO problems installing at all.

I've not bought Tiger... I'm debating on going through the hassle of going through the media exchange program... my 733mHz G4 does not have a DVD drive... We do have an old, slow iMac G3 running 9.2.2 and they are networked, but I don't think I can install it on my G4 that way from the iMac... <sigh>
