The EditableMovie class doesn't have the functions to convert a QT movie to a .WAV file. You need QT export functions. There are several plugins that support exporting to formats such as WAV, AIFF, etc. QTPlugin and MBS are two of them.

How do I correctly save an audio file (opened as EditableMovie)

plays ok in Quicktime (mac or windows) but when I try open it
with Windows Media Player is errors out. (not compatible codec
or something).
