Tom,
Actually, I already do this with my contextual menus and add my own
context sensitive help links. I was wondering about the main menu
bar, which displays a help menu once the help book is registered.

If you don't wish to use the System Help Option and instead
substitue your own, set the "useCMM" property of your contextual
menu to False. This gets rid of the system supplied "Help" menu item.
Note: you also loose access to the various installed Contextual
Menu Items by doing this.
Cheers,
Tom

My help book is bundled and when the app is launched, the system
puts up a help menu. How can I add items to that menu, such as
direct links to chapters in my book? Trying to add a help menu in
RB leaves me with two.
TIA
John
