Hmmm, don't know what the pain is, but implementing your own buffer
should not take more than a dozen lines of code... plus some extra
memory, of course.
I did it for my GPS app (and I suppose you need it for that exact
same purpose ;-), if you wnat some code drop me a note.

The whole point was to avoid using my own buffer. I was using my
own buffer, but it's a pain. If there's an easy workaround for
this, then it would be nice!
