Subject: OS 10.4.4 file copying problems RB 5.5.5?

I'm re-sending this email from yesterday since it hasn't shown up in
the list digest so far.
I am getting reports that the installer for my application is broken in
OS 10.4.4. All the installer currently does, is to copy files from it's
own bundle to a new application bundle in a folder created in the
user's applications folder. Beyond that, it needs to install a couple
of fonts and set file permissions etc.
I'm not yet running 10.4 but it seems I'm hitting a problem with basic
file copying. has anyone seen a similar problem?
I cannot help you with that specific problem, but, anyway, here I go:
REALbasic 5.5.5 never heard nor know what Mac OS X 10.4 can be. So, in some way,
it is not abnormal that here and there you get trouble with it. Sorry.
Also, not related to REALbasic, but with Mac OS X 10.4: I had a directory
structure crash in early september 2005 with 10.4.2 and a friend had the very
same trouble with 10.4.3... I had to initialize my hard disk and so I install
10.3.9; my friend troubles were not so hard and a Disk Utilities run was enough.
What is my advice ? Be -current on the two sides of the puzzle: the OS and the
REALbasic versions must be in par (say REALbasic 2006 and Mac OS X 10.4.4). REAL
Software have tested REALbasic (and so the list too) using that couple of
software withing this configuration (or so) and normally, this kind of troubles
cannot happens (unless a Mac OS X 10.4.5 with REALbasic 2006r1 for example).
