There is a Homewood Suites by Hilton, http://
homewoodsuites.hilton.com, right next to the Omni, if you are looking
for a cheaper hotel that doesn't charge by the hour. http://
www.expedia.com/ will make a hotel and flight package which should
save you money, they are the only ones I know that will make a
package with the starting city outside the USA. For a hotel, the
Rodeway Inn is down the street from the Omni, & flight the cheapest
was $970 US. The best deal I was able to find for myself was through
hotwire.com for $580 staying at the Homewood above, much nicer then
the Rodeway Inn.

I booked up before deciding to quit my job, I don't regret it but
I probably wouldn't be going now if I'd waited to book purely
because of the money:
REAL World Pass: £289.81
Flights and first night's stay (Excl VAT): £462.93
Hotel (expected): £448.89
Total so far: £1,201.63 == $2,125 approx
And I haven't eaten, drunk or transfered to/from airport yet!
I'm there for a week (arrive previous Friday night), so intent to
see a bit of Austin at the weekend and just after the event, hence
I'm paying a little more for the hotel than some.
