I'm starting a new website (well I've actually been working at it since
november 15th 2005, but since this is done in my spare time, and as everybody
knows there isn't nearly enough of that) to promote free cross platform
software. Since realbasic can and is used to make software for windows, mac and
linux, I was wondering if anybody had any free software that they wanted to
display on my new website.
The main purpose of my website is to show people that when they start using
free cross platform software, they are no longer bound to any particular os and
are therefore free to choose their os, since no matter what they choose (i am
focusing on windows, mac and linux) they will be able to keep using the
software they are used to and keep on using the files they made. With free
software I mean software that is free to use for home use. This can be
freeware, opensource free software, a license that makes it free for home use,
postcardware, careware, software that asks for a donation but doesn't require
it,... Anyways one is allowed to use it for free. The only other requirement is
that it is available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
I am considering adding a section for realbasic (I know realbasic isn't free)
since there are a lot of free plugins, free code examples and so on available.
Maybe I can get some feedback as to whether a realbasic category would fit
within the framework of my site.
The website is not complete yet, but offers some idea of what I am trying to
do. The biggest lack so far is that the texts for now are taken almost
completely from the original websites. I plan to add actual reviews and
screenshots of other platforms than windows as soon as I find time.
The website is at http://www.thefreewarevault.com
