Not sure how that can be. The error specifically references GDI32.DLL.

Sorry ... a GDI Object count issue

There is a limit on the number of GDI Objects you can have in any one application (10,000 in XP) and if you cross that you will likely crash or just get very very odd behavior if you don't crash first

I have a very very short program that demonstrates this issue (about 8 lines)
