Mine regularly take quite a bit of time (some the better part of a minute). Been that way since 2005R1.

I've got some pretty huge projects that open instantly. I wonder what's different about your projects, that they take so long as to want a progress bar?

Joe, can you define "huge" for us? My projects are big but relatively simple. I use very few external items and almost no plugins. I can't imagine what would be in my projects that make them open more slowly than yours.
